INNOVATIONS
On September 26th, the “Ideathon 2019”, was organised by the Department of Community Medicine in collaboration with Yen Onco Centreand Incubation Centre, in the Yenepoya University campus.
The theme of the event was “Yen Cancer Affordable solutions”
Amna Javed, Sarah Xavier, Hiba Mariyam, Raymond Nicholas of Grade IX represented the Yenepoya School. With great pride, we cite that Amna Javed of Grade IX, was adjudged the best in the school category. She won a cash award of Rs. 2000/-
The Petroleum Conservation Research Association organised an Essay Writing and Painting Competition in the month of September 2019, for Grades VII – X, as part of Saksham National Competition 2019. The topic was “Oil Conservation towards Healthy and Better Environment”
The essays written by Raymond Nicholas and Hiba Mariam of Grade IX were adjudged as best to be sent for the National level.
In the painting event, the art work done by Sanchit (V), Alziya Fathima (VII), Amena Nazeer (IX) and Ilham (X) Category under the guidance of their Art Teacher, Mr.Vidyachandra Lovely, were selected to be sent for the national level.
Atal Tinkering Lab
A two day workshop on Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) was organised by Sharada Vidyaniketan Public School in October 2019. Shwetha S., Aisiri Shetty, Chaitra R. M., and Deepali participated in the event accompanied by Teachers. The Facilitator explained about the concept and circumstances behind ATL and the fundamental ideas behind such a novel project.
Environment Education
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi 2019, the Students of Grade IX conducted a short Programme.The Principal, Campus Director, and Vice-Principal, garlanded the portrait of Gandhiji. On the same day, as part of Swacch Bharath Abhiyan, the Students of Grades IX and X, along with the Faculty Members, had a Campus Cleaning as well as 1killometers of NH66 road cleaning as well as 1killometer of NH66 road cleaning drive.
AICS Athletic Meet
AICS Dakshina Kannada Region Athletic Meet 2018-19 for Junior and Senior Category was held on 1ST December 2018 (Saturday) at the Sri D. Ratnavarma Heggade Stadium, Ujire. 10 Students participated from TYS In Shot-put, Aman Akthar Guthigar and Leisha D'souza won gold medals and Melissa won a silver medal in Triple Jump.
The Yenepoya School Cricket Team emerges victorious after many wins at Sri Lanka
The The Yenepoya School Cricket team has emerged victorious after many wins at the 5 one-day Cricket Series held in Sri Lanka at Kandy, Colombo and Ratnapura. Six students along with their coaches Santhosh Misquith and Ashwin Koppal participated in this event and have brought back laurels to our School. The Students who took part were - Aman Akthar Guthigar, Grade X (Longest Sixes Award), Aman M Shetty, Grade X (Best Bowler Award, man of the Match and Highest Wicket Taker Award), Mohammed Riham, Grade X (Man of the Match Award and Highest Wicket Taker Award), Rajdeep Singh, Grade X, Advait Acharya, Grade VII and Soham Acharya, Grade VII. The School felicitated the young Cricketers at a Special Assembly held on 11.07.2018. The Students were then addressed by Mr. Santhosh Misquith and Mr. Joseph Mechirath, Principal.
Swimming Champs
“A swimmer is one who never givesup, he only tries to push himself harder with each stroke, each kick and each lap”.
Wafi Abdullah Hakeem, of Grade V bagged the Gold medal in the Nationals organised by the Swimming Federation of India (SFI).
Our students participated in the CBSE South Zone Swimming Competition and bagged 1Gold, 3 silver and 2 Bronze medals.
Wafi Abdullah Hakeem of Grade V, K. Janani of Grade V and Vindhya G. Bhandaryof Grade X bagged medals in various swimming competitions.
Our Students Participated in National swimming event held at Gyana Ganga School, Bhopal, MP.
Wafi Abdul Hakeem bagged a Bronze medal in 50 mtr. Freestyle. This marks the First National Level Medal for School in CBSE swimming championships.
K. Janani bagged 6th place in 50 mtr. Fly.
Vindhya G. Bhandary secured 5th place in 50 mtr freestyle, and 6th place in 50 mtr. Breaststroke. TYS is proud of the achievement of our students.
Karate medalists
Our students won the Best Supporting Team Trophy in the 17th State Level Karate Championship held at Moodbidri on 24thAugust 2019. Our students bagged 2 Gold, 2 silver and 11 bronze medals. Nihal M. Poojary of Grade IV and Manvi Poojary of Grade VIII participated in Budokan-Karate-do-India National Level Karate Championship 2019, held at Fr. Muller’s Indoor Stadium, Mangalore. Nihal M. Poojary secured First Place in individual Kata in 8-10 years blue belt and Second Place in individual Kumite in 30 – 35 kg blue belt. Manvi Poojary won First Place in individual Kumite in 50 – 55 kg black belt.
Olympiads
Our students appeared for the Science, Mathematics, Cyber and English Olympiads year after year – and very successfully under the able guidance of Akhila Bolar.
IIMUN medalists
INSEF Regional Micro Fair 2017 held at Alvas college, Moodbidri
Mansha Ashraf of grade 10 bagged the second prize for the project ‘Green Synthesis of Zinc Oxide Nano Particles and its study’, as a Novel Antibacterial Nano weapon to combat multi drug resistance in INSEF Regional Micro Fair 2017 held at Alvas college, Moodbidri.
Our students also participated for the Sahyadri Talent hunt 2017
PES Mun Medalist
Cricket Achievement
In the DKCA Inter-School Cricket Tournament, The Yenepoya School Cricket Team reached the Finals after winning against Lourdes Central School.
KSCA Mangalore Zone had conducted DK District Inter School Cricket Tournament 2018 – 2019. Our students reached the finals and lifted the Runners-Up Trophy.

Navyashree! who secured the second place in “AICS Foot Locker Cross Country Race 2017!”
Skating Medalist
Muhammed Shamil Arshad, student of grade VII, set the skating rink on fire, by winning back – to- back gold medals, and topping the scores whenever he participated in skating competitions. Having participated in 500 mts. Open State level skating championship 2019- 2020 at Mysore, he won the 500 mts. Rink race gold medal, one lap road race gold medal, and in 3000 mts. road race. He won 3 gold medals and the individual championship. Indeed a great achievement for TYS.
Shooting Club
Marksmanship or Rifle Shooting as a sport, is yet another one of those rare disciplines which is growing popular.
Malavika Prasanth of Grade VIII, participated in the Karnataka State Level Shooting Championship in Bangalore and has qualified, from the State of Karnataka, for the Pre-Nationals as a Youth Shooter.
Malavika Prasanth also participated in CBSE South Zone rifle shooting competition held at DPS, Telangana. She is qualified for nationals to be held at Kurnal, Haryana.
Students also participated in different sports events, such as Table Tennis, Badminton, Cross Country Race and Football Tournaments organized by the AICS. They also participated in Independence Cup 2019. High School Football Team participated in AJI Football Tournament at Kasaragod.
PTA
An orientationsession was conducted in June 2019 for students of Grade IV – VIII which is better known as a getting- to- know- each other session of teachers and students. The Students were oriented with the School rules and guidelines to be followed for the year. Class Teachers and Co-Teachers conducted ice – breaking games and group activities in which the Students actively and happily participated.
The School also conducted an Orientation Programmefor Parents and students of Grades IV to VIII.The Parents were notified about the rules, regulations and guidelines for the academic year 2019-2020. A complete insight on the academic front, the syllabus, the assessment and examination structure was shared with the parents.
A Special Assembly was conducted in June 2019, to welcome the Students of Grade IV & V. On this occasion, the Students of Grade X, cited the importance of World Environment Day and the importance of celebrating Eid.
Simultaneously, at the School Auditorium, an Orientation session was held for parents of Grade IX & X students. Parents were accompanied by the students. The aim was to give parents and students an idea of various teaching methodologies being employed by the school. The orientation also included introduction of the new and existing staff. The orientation session ended with one- on- one meet and greet session with the parents.
