It was a huge moment for The Yenepoya School to organize the AICS Badminton Tournament, BadmintYEN 2022, on 28th July, 2022 at the Yendurance Zone, Yenepoya University, Mangalore. The school had the opportunity to host around 31 CBSE and ICSE schools across Dakshina Kannada district. It was spectacular to watch an overwhelming crowd of around 600 people that included the participants and their mentors.
The event was privileged with the presence of eminent grandees. Mr. Gautam Padival, Director of Padival Brothers Pvt. Ltd., was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony. He encouraged the participants to give their best. It was remarkable to have his company. Mrs. Mishria Javeed, Campus Director of The Yenepoya School made a noteworthy presence and cheered the contestants. Principal, Mr. Uzwal Menezes, welcomed the august gathering. Ms. Fathima Rifam, hosted the inaugural ceremony. The Advisor for AICS Badminton Tournament, Mr. Vishwanath Devadiga of Lourdes Central School was warmly recognized for his valuable attendance. Sports Captain, Master Muhammad Shamil, expressed his gratitude to all the dignitaries and the contesting teams. All the participants displayed great passion and perseverance. The vibe at the Yenduranze zone was scintillating. A healthy sportsmanship was demonstrated by the players. Exhilaration reached its pinnacle during the Final Matches. There was a huge round of applause for the winners. St. Agnes School CBSE, bagged the 1st position in Under 14 girls’ category and Cambridge School was the runner-up. Lourdes Central School was the title-holder in Under 14 boys’ category and Amrita Vidyalayam secured the runners-up place. Lourdes Central School was the proud winner of Under 17 girl’s group with Cambridge School in the 2nd place. Canara High School CBSE emerged victorious in Under 17 boys’ category with Sharada Vidyanikethana Public School turning as the runner-up team. The finals were conducted on 16th August, 2022 at Yendurance Zone. The champions took home the trophies that earned them great compliments for their hard work.
