Diwali celebration at TYS

Diwali is known as the festival of lights, and depicts the victory of light over darkness, good over evil. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm in our school on 03.11.2021. The schools entrance was decorated with a stunning rangoli and colorful lamps. The day started with a special morning assembly organised by the students with a lot of enthusiasm and set the mood of festivity with joy and fervor. The program began with a meaningful prayer service highlighting the message of Diwali, invoking God’s blessings. This was followed by the playing of the school’s anthem. The students showcased the spirit of Diwali through activities such as a quiz on the festival and a mesmerizing dance performance. The Principal, Mrs. Grace Noronha, enlightened the students with a lively speech about the festival. She explained the meaning of Diwali and enunciated its importance to all everyone. She applauded the efforts of the children and urged them to celebrate a clean, green and safe Diwali. The assembly culminated with a vote of thanks. In the evening, all members of Staff got together for Diwali celebrations. The Director Mrs Mishria Javeed, and the Principal, Mrs Grace Noronha conveyed their festive greetings to all. Sweets were served adding to the cheerful mood. The celebration filled all with a message of love and fellowship..
