Environment Day 2023

Environment Day 2023

"To sit in the shade on a fine day, and look upon verdure, is the most perfect refreshment." - Jane Austen

Every day when we wake up, we see how nature plays a vital role in our life and to appraise this charm, we specifically celebrate Environment day to honour the beauty that nature is. It is a day on which we spread awareness about the environment and the need to conserve it, to advocate for a greener environment and conservation of nature. Students of The Yenepoya School celebrated World Environment Day on Monday, 5th June 2023 at the school campus with great enthusiasm and zeal. Students of NEP 1, 2 and 3 engaged themselves in a variety of events. Special assemblies were conducted by students who were mentored by their respective teachers and Excellence Managers. Principal and Chief Academic Officer were present for the occasion. Students of grades 1 and 2 were shown videos and had collage making activity. Students of grade 3 to 5 had activities where they planted seeds, made placards and collages to show how much they care about mother earth. Students of grade 6 to 8 highlighted the theme of this year's World Environment Day, which was "Ecosystem Restoration." The students were dressed in green costumes and carried posters and placards, spreading the message of environmental conservation. As part of the celebrations, the students also organized a tree plantation drive in the school premises. They planted saplings and pledged to take care of them. Overall, the program was a great success and served as a reminder to all of us to take responsibility and do our part in protecting the environment. It was an excellent opportunity for students to learn about environmental conservation and ways to contribute towards a better planet.
