Field Trip of Grade 1 & 2 to Central Library, Mangalore

Field trips enable students to experience the real word first hand.

The students of class 1& 2 were taken on a field trip to the public library located at light house hill. The students were shown how the library functioned. The library had a variety of books for people of all ages . They even had a digital library section where people can access e-books.

The staff at the library were happy to have the children visit them . Our children were given a few books and they enjoyed going through those books. Every child was handed over a laddu before leaving. The field trip ended with the students being content about their visit to the library.

     

     

     

     

     

     

Field Trip of Montessori to Laundry Line and Food Craft - Deralakatte

The children of Montessori enjoyed a day at Yenepoya University, Deralakatte visiting 'Food Craft' and 'Laundry Line' as part of their field trip. They witnessed how food is being cooked in large professional cookers and the workings of the bakery unit. The students enjoyed the bakery as they saw cakes and bread being baked. At Laundry Line, the students were shown how clothes are washed in industrial washing machines, professionally ironed and packed.

The management of Food craft served the kids and staff with refreshments concluding the field trip with mouth watering delicacies.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

Field trip of Grade 1 & 2 - Fisheries College

The students of grade 1 and 2 were taken on a field trip to Fisheries College, Yekkur. Children were very excited to see the different marine and local fish displayed. They also learnt the differences between fresh water fish and Marine fish.

     

     

     

     

Field Trip of Grade 5 to The Anatomy Museum, Yenepoya University

Medical science is highly evolved but for most of us it is still a mystery and moreover for children. The anatomy museum of the Yenepoya University showed and made these young minds of grade 5 understand many aspects related to the human body systems. Apart from the dissection of different organs and parts of body, there was also text information posted around the displays and explanations given by the experts in that field.

The students thoroughly enjoyed and learnt all that was shown and explained.

     

     

     

     

     

     

Field Trip of Grade 3 to Laundry Line and Food Craft

Kids can learn to develop knowledge and excitement around healthy eating when they become more involved in the kitchen. Teaching children to cook from a young age encourages them to continue to thrive in the kitchen and develop healthier eating habits as they grow older. Through cooking, children can practice healthy eating by understanding what goes behind the final product and by creating balanced meals and snacks. That's exactly what the children of grade 3 witnessed in the Yenepoya food factory under the supervision of the head chef Satish sir.

The children were also provided with some mouth watering refreshments such as carrot cake, cookie, samosa and juice. They all had a wonderful time exploring every nook and corner of the vast kitchen.

     

     

     

     

     

     

Field Trip of Montessori to Sahyadri Garden, Mangalore

A fieldtrip was organised for the children of Montessori to Sahyadri plant nursery located in Pumpwel on 27th September 2022. The aim of the visit was to broaden their understanding of plant life and how a green environment can benefit living beings on this planet. Since the theme 'From Seed to Plant', is being taught in class, the students were able to identify the different types of plant life, including trees, shrubs, climbers and creepers. The children were able to name the different flowers, trees and leaves. They were fascinated to see the lotus pond and they were able to relate many of the plants and trees to what they have seen at their grandparents’ home. With their curiosity kindled, the children spent a productive day filled with excitement of discovery and proximity to nature. They got a first-hand experience on how plants are nurtured in the field. The visit was a revalidation of how experiential learning can be used to inculcate in the students respect for nature.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

Field Trip of Grade 4 to Laundry Line and Food Craft

Whether you believe that the kitchen is the heart of the home or not, you can't deny that it is a hub of activity. From cooking up our favourite meals, nourishing our bodies and learning to bake with mum to doing homework with our children, hosting and entertaining friends, and using it as a place to converse over a steaming cup of tea. The kitchen is undoubtedly the most used room in the home and a place that is full of memories

The children of grade 4 visited the Yenepoya food factory and thoroughly enjoyed the vast expanse of the kitchen. The children were also provided with mouth watering refreshments such as banana cake, brownie, samosa, chocolate chip cookies and juice. They had a wonderful time exploring the kitchen with the staff and head chef Sathish sir.

     

     

     

     

Field Trip of Grade 7 to Thousand pillar temple and Gokarnatha temple

A temple is a building devoted to the worship of a God. The architecture or building style of temples varies from place to place. The students of Grade 7 got an opportunity to visit the ancient temple at Moodabidri, Thousand pillar temple and Gokarnatha temple at Kudroli .

The students were given a tour of the temple learning that the Thousand Pillar temple was built in the 15th Century by Devaraj Wadiyar. The aim of the visit was fulfilled as students witnessed the intricate inscriptions on the walls of the temple, ancient structures, carvings and the overall architecture. The students enjoyed the trip and were inspired to learn more about the precious culture and heritage of Karnataka.

     

     

     

Field Trip of Grade 6 to Pillikula Heritage Village

According to Francis Bacon" Travelling is a part of education." A field trip enhances the knowledge of the students beyond the four walls of the classroom. To provide such an enriching experience to students The Yenepoya School organised a trip for grade 6 to Pillikula Heritage Village and Planetarium.

Sixty four eager and excited children along with five teachers and two ancillary staff, started the trip at 9am on 24 January 2023.

The students could look into different topics from both social Science and Science, from all perspectives enabling them to understand the topics better. This experience will help students to retain the knowledge in their memories for a much longer period.

The field trip enthralled the students , to such an extent that it revived their fatigued spirits. Their takeaway from this travel was a deep understanding and new interesting facts.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

Field Trip of Grade 8 to Pillikula Planetarium

On 31st January students of grade 8th along with 5 teachers went for a field trip to pilikula vamanjur with a view to visit the museum and planetarium.

The objective of the trip was to enlighten the students with the tradition and culture. At the science museum they saw different models depicting various scientific facts. They were taken to the 3 D planetarium for a visual treat. They enjoyed watching the sky theatre where they viewed the night sky and the various planets. The voice enabled system took the students to the various constellation of stars as they lay back in their seat. After lunch the students played in the park. The students returned to school happy and full of an enriched out of class learning session.

     

     

     

     

     

     

Field Trip of Grade 5 to Pillikula Heritage Village

Grade 5 visited the Heritage Village and the Science museum this morning at Pilikula.

This is one of a kind Science Center which has a lush Science Park, located outside the building, which also includes a Dinosaur Park. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Pilikula Nisarga Dhama has developed a Heritage Village / Artisan Village Complex, where a typical rural atmosphere of Dakshina Kannada has been recreated.

It put up an authentic presentation with minute attention to detail clearly visible in the retention of original design and use of genuine tools, implements, equipment and artifacts by traditional hereditary artists and artisans.

It was an awesome experience for the children where they witnessed the Dakshina Kannada culture up close.

The students returned to school enriched as they learned about the importance of preserving nature and its resources through the various exhibits and activities.

     

     

     

     

Field Trip of Grade 4 to Nandini Milk Dairy, Mangalore

Grade 4 visited the Nandini Milk Dairy, Mangalore. After a long tiring day under the sun, a refreshing cool summer drink hits the sweet spot. The tag line of Nandini is - "we present to you the best summer warriors to help you beat the heat"

Students of grade 4 enjoyed seeing the varied range of products that were being packaged. They were also offered their best for a taste, the nandini Lassi and buttermilk.

However due to "hygienic reasons " students were not allowed inside the factory where the actual process of making the different products can be seen.

Although, they did come back refreshed.

     

Field Trip of Grade 5 to Brick Factory at Kutthar

Grade 5 students of had an exciting visit to the Brick Factory at Kuthar.

They were thrilled to see the entire process of making bricks right from the initial stages of mixing soil and sand to the final stages of firing them in the kiln. They also learnt about the various machines and tools used in the process. The students were also impressed to learn about the industrial safety measures taken at the factory. The visit was an enriching and educational experience for all the students.

They all came away with a better understanding of the brick industry.
