All of us know about the environment but our knowledge goes in vain if we are unable to sensitize others on the cause of conservation of forest. Vana Mahotsav, a week long festival of planting trees is organized every year in the first week of July across India.
The whole staff of The Yenepoya School, celebrated the ‘Vana Mahotsav’ Day on 7 July 2021 on the school premises. Ms Smitha welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of the day.
The programme was graced by the esteemed dignitaries Dr Elias Gerald Dsilva, Assitant Professor, PG Department, St Aloysius Autonomous College, Ms Mishria Javeed, Campus Director and Ms Grace Noronha, Principal TYS.
Then the dignitaries were requested to plant the saplings and to inaugurate The Yenepoya Forest. Speaking on the importance of forest Dr Dsilva stressed on avoiding of felling trees but to resort to planting more trees to keep the environment safe and clean and to educate children on the importance of growing trees and preserving forests.Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not greed. So Let's all pledge to protect our environment.
