On the occasion of The International Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking, a program with a special talk was organized on 26th June 2023 in The Yenepoya School.
Shaheema of Grade X hosted the program. The program began with the prayer. Sawa of Grade X welcomed the gathering. Risha of Grade X spoke about the significance of the day, focusing on the ways to overcome the problem of drug abuse.
The speech was followed by the pledge to never be involved in that vicious problem. The students of NEP4 then performed a skit with the message that "prevention is better than cure."
Dr. Maji Jose,Vice Principal, Yenepoya Dental College and the Deputy Director, Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, was the chief guest. With a PowerPoint presentation, she raised an awareness about substance abuse and spoke about the importance of the involvement of the family, teachers, and peer groups in helping children in trouble.
The Principal Mr. Uzwal Menezes then addressed the gathering. Janneth Riya proposed the Vote of Thanks. The program was concluded with the National Anthem.
Mr. Joshlyn Mathais, the Chief Academic Officer, Mrs. Evette pereira, the Campus Coordinator, Mr. Padmanabhan, the Vice Principal, graced the occasion. The program was a grand success. The thought-provoking session was witnessed by the students and the teachers.
