The Yenepoya School in association with the Muslim Educational Institutions Federation conducted a workshop for Montessori Teachers across Udupi & Dakshina Kannada districts on 13th and 14th September, 2023, at the school campus. Over 225 participants engaged themselves in the workshop .
The event commenced with veneration to the Almighty by the YEN choir. Director and Trustee of The Yenepoya Group, Mr. Yenepoya Abdulla Javeed launced the MEIF Annual Action Plan. Ms. Reeti R, Assistant Professor & Clinical Psychologist, Yenepoya School of Allied Health Sciences, was the esteemed Chief Guest for the gathering. The occasion was presided by Mr. Moosabba Beary, President of MEIF. Mr. B. M. Mumthaz Ali, Vice - President of MEIF, Central Zone and the Director of Academics & Operations of The Yenepoya School & P.U. College, Mrs. Mishria Javeed were present among the others.
Ms. Krisha D’silva hosted the programme. Excellence Mentor, Mrs. Fathima Shameena, gave a perfect kick-start to the workshop by training the participants on classroom management, settlement period, lesson planning and learning corners. The session was very collective. Mrs. Deepthi Karkera, Excellence Mentor of Preschool, elaborated the content on the most sought after subjects of Math and English. Mrs. Rosemarie Saldanha gracefully presented her expertise in the concepts of classroom etiquettes, pronunciation, and the right usage of Montessori materials.
The audience was in awe of the puppet show that was demonstrated by Ms. Tannia, who was aided by Ms. Krithika and Ms. Riddhi. She also offered a demo on learning corners. Ms. Emilynne Pais engaged the audience with strategies and science of child development. Ms. Zeena D'Almeida offered a brief demo on presentations. Many ice breaker sessions and activities were conducted for the participants.
The valedictory ceremony included prize and certificate distribution for the winners and participants. Mr. B.A. Abdul Nazeer, Chairman - WAQF Advisory Board, D.K, was the ChiefGuest. Mr. Haji Abdul Rasheed, President of Sayyed Madani Educational Institutions, Ullal, graced the ocassion. The vote of thanks was proposed followed by recitation of the National Anthem marking the end of event.
