They say, "Small hands can handle a pen better"
On the occasion of Child Labour Day, The Yenepoya School organized a special assembly to create awareness about the issue of child labour. Students of NEP 2 and 3 conducted special assemblies to highlight and spread awareness about it. Students spoke about how child labour is a violation of children's rights and is detrimental to their physical and mental health and education. Students of NEP 3 performed a dance drama that depicted the exploitation of children in industries, factories, and households, and the hardships they face in their everyday lives. Students of grades 4 and 5 performed a dance and showed what child labour is, and what we, as a society, can do to end this transgression. Principal, Mr. Uzwal Menezes, conveyed the message that every child has the right to education and should be given the opportunity to learn and grow. CAO, Mr. Joshlyn Mathias shared a meaningful message. The program was both informative and engaging, and it helped us understand our responsibility towards eradicating child labour from our society.
