World Ocean Day

World Ocean Day

A special school assembly was conducted at The Yenepoya School on Thursday, 8th June, 2023, by students of NEP 3 to celebrate World Oceans Day. This year's United Nations World Oceans Day (UN WOD) celebrated the theme Planet Ocean: Tides are Changing. The aim of the event was to inform and encourage students about the importance of oceans and how we can collectively contribute to the conservation of the oceans. The assembly started with a prayer and was followed by a brief introduction on the importance of oceans and on ocean conservation, highlighting the challenges and risks the oceans face. The highlight of the event was the recitation of a poem on oceans. The assembly concluded with a message from the Principal, who emphasized the need to continue learning about the oceans and taking conscious steps towards their conservation. On the other hand, students NEP 2 showed the same solidarity towards this change by taking part in activities for World Ocean's Day. The aim of these activities was to create awareness on oceans and its resources which are crucial for the survival of living beings on earth.
